HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN YOUR ROLE TO PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT IN THE INDUSTRY?
I tell people that I provide advice and planning solutions that allows people to meet their financial goals. Sometimes people come to me unsure whether or not they can retire. It’s my job to look at their unique situation and help create a blueprint on how they can reach their retirement goals.
How have you progressed and evolved through your time at ACM?
I started at Advance Capital as an intern when I was 18 years old doing basic administrative work, then progressed into an associate adviser role over time where I worked under senior advisers. The knowledge I gained during that time helped prepare me become an adviser with my own clients.
How would you describe Advance Capital’s culture?
The collaborative culture at Advance Capital is what has allowed me to progress so much during my time here. Everybody’s door is open, so I can go to another adviser to hear their perspective on something. The fact we can bounce ideas off each other has helped me tremendously.
What do you find most rewarding about your work?
The most rewarding part of my job is knowing I’m helping someone reach their goals. Seeing a client’s goals come to fruition due to their discipline and our teamwork is a great feeling.
What does it take to be successful in your role?
Being a successful financial adviser requires communication, research and attention to detail. Communication with my clients is vital so we can be on the same page when it comes to reaching their goals. The stock market, and everything that factors into it, is everchanging, so it’s important to stay informed and well-read on what’s going on. Attention to detail is key because every client’s situation is unique, so it’s important to take everything into account.
